Banias, or Caesarea Phillipi, is the location where in Matthew 16:13-18 Jesus addresses his disciples. Come to Israel to find out why this place was called the Gates of Hell.
On the Israeli coastline lies Caesarea Maritima, or Caesarea by the Sea. It is here that we find one of Herod the Great's wonderful examples of architecture. At the time of Herod the Great, this was the largest port in the known world, which Herod the Great had built in only 12 years.

The area of Dan is mentioned many times in the Bible often in demarcating the northern boundry of Israel. It was originally named Laish or Leshem. The area is named after the tribe that conquered the region and it retained this name until the 4th century. During the First Temple period Dan served as the ritual center for the northern tribes.
Although the town of Tzippori, ancient Sepphoris, is not mention in the Bible it is an important site for both Jews and Christians. It was a city that was mixed with both Jewish and pagan places of worship and recreation. The site included a theater, bathhouse, and according to the Talmud as many as eighteen synagogues.
Bet Shean is remembered as the location where the bodies of Saul and his son Jonathan was hung after they were killed at Mt Gilboa. The Tel at Bet Shean has yielded eighteen different levels of occupation and five major temple complexes have been discovered at the top.
